U1 Microscopes & Blood - Week Two
The Surface
There was no time to lose and so much to cover, speaking of cover...did you know? The skin is our largest organ because it spans over and covers our entire human body.
The Grade 3s took a close look at the skin, by close I mean, we zoomed in to see what the skin looks like under a microscope. This discussion led us to speaking about cells and how we have over thirty trillion cells in our human body.
So, what happens when there is a break in our skin?
Well, we bleed!
The Grade 3s discovered the significance of blood and the three different cells found in our blood plasma, learning the main function of each cell. This was an enjoyably yet messy creation - check out their videos on Seesaw.

During Mathematics, we learnt about measurement then practiced converting from kilometers to meters and centimeters to millimeters. They also used their research skills to discuss and find out what could be smaller than a millimeter.
Meanwhile, in English, we focused on sentence writing and finding specific information from a text.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
