U1 Muscles and more - Week Four

 A short week

Our Reverential Rhinos of G3 have officially taken their first step to start on their individual research projects. Last week they decided on an organ they would like to research further into and present on. So, this week we went off to the library to find resources that they could take home to assist them with their research project. We also discussed and came up with some learning and presentation goals.

Before continuing on with our new system for the week, we decided to head to our Wonder Wall and reflect on our initial inquiries about the human body. Most of the Grade 3s were ecstatic to discover that they have already gathered new knowledge and answers to their initial inquiries and could transfer this knowledge to their friend

SYSTEM OF THE WEEK... This week we took a look at the muscular system and discussed its function and purpose in the human body. The Grade 3s discovered that they have three different muscle types, cardiac, smooth and skeletal muscles. Some of them even made the connection between the organ they have chosen to research further and its muscle type.

Other exciting news, we had our first whole-school assembly on Thursday. It was an awesome sight to see having the entire school gathered together for a fun welcoming.

In Mathematics, we continued working with measurement studying the difference between capacity and volume using concrete objects.
And in English, the Gr3s are creating their very own newspaper as part of their non-fiction genre. They are so excited about this activity and are wondering whether they can sell it for money once it is complete.
I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!
