U1 Fishing off - Who We Are
And that's, Who We Are!
It was the final days of learning about the human body and its systems. The students separated into their groups for one last big group effort. OMIKEN, Bones and Paprika finished off their big human body posters in their teams, adding their new knowledge and information onto their poster for everyone else to see.
Aita, from Grade 6, asked to come and share his research presentation with the Grade 3s.
The Grade 5s & 6s have been investigating contributions from the past that have helped develop modern day science. With that, Aita inquired into Christiaan Barnard who was a South African cardiac surgeon that performed the world's first human-to-human heart transplant operation. The Grade 3s found this particularly interesting because they were able to relate to the information he shared with them.
Say, "FAECES!"
Little did the Grade 3s know, but they were in for a last fun investigation... or should I say, last fun and MESSY investigation during unit.😆
Bringing the Human Body and its systems to an end, there is no better way to conclude the unit other than to recreate the digestive system and how our bodies digest food... say, "Faeces!!"

The Grade 3s managed to create a number of display advertisements for their newspaper's and also added in two articles, one that they researched and one that they wrote.
In the mornings' we have been building our vocabulary by analyzing words from a given text, this week we studied a nonfiction extract about dragons.

In Mathematics, we practiced rounding off numbers & also learnt about negative numbers.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
