U6 'Walk like an Egyptian'

 Ancient Egypt
Provocations had been completed and it was time to vote.

"Miss Schelin, if you had to vote, which one would you vote for?"

Choosing an ancient civilization to study in detail is exciting! They're all so fascinating especially when you have 5 to choose from, so base your vote on the one that intrigues you the most.

Soon enough, the votes were in, and Ancient Egypt took first place with two thirds of a fraction split!
The Reverential Rhinos, 'Danced like Egyptians' and were really into it.

Geographical location's and historical timelines is where we decided to begin. The Grade 3s had to work on their thinking and communication skills when plotting Ancient Egypt's beginning of history.

In Mathematics, we continued looking at fractions and had a round of bingo with equivalent fractions. Percentages was also in the mix, such a relief when you hear multiple students remarks of, 'Oh, is that it? That is so easy' followed by a grin!

We had an essential interuption during the week as we took cover under the tables, and walked to safety.

Another one of our Grade 5's taking action, he came around to share his poster, survey and old shoes request for his 'Recycling Basketball Shoes' exhibition!

To finish it off, I am proud of my students and their commitment to ongoing projects and skills.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
